Now that December 2011 has come and gone and 2012 is here, I am officially done with my 365 Project. I am feeling a variety of feelings - relief, sadness, pride, happiness, confusion - just to name a few. It feels weird not looking daily for a photo to put up and write about, but I gotta admit that while it was fun, it was also sometimes stressful. I can't believe I did it though! I really did it! Here are some highlights from my final month. The month of November was a huge emotional roller coaster for me. I had some fun assignments and produced some good stuff for work and I celebrated my Grammy and namesake's 95th birthday. However, I also lost my Grammy during the month of November and had to come to terms with losing one of the most important people in my life. Luckily, I have good friends near and far who helped me get through it and I even spent another Thanksgiving with one of my best friends and her family right before I headed up for the memorial service. While I was in Maryland, I got to spend a lot of time with my family who I don't see very often and it gave me a chance to really bond more with all of them. From the chalk festival to vertical art to dance and medieval fairs, my assignments gave me a lot of creative leeway and that helped me feel good about the work I turned in to the paper. October was a good month full of events and some nice weather. The biggest milestone? I've officially been living in Sarasota and working at the Observer for a year! With September over, I am not only nine months through my photo project, but I will soon have been working in Sarasota for an entire year. It is hard to imagine both.
